Monday's New Info and Questions

Hi Guys,
Happy New Week and New Month.  After reading this post, go to your assignments and get them done.  I've given you a couple of math games to play today.  Percentages, decimals and changing fractions to decimals are the topics in math.  I'll start giving you things from Go Math on Wednesday.
E- mail me your answers to today's research questions.  Many of you did that last week.  I want more of you to answer today and tomorrow!!  On May 4th in history:  1) What famous awards event was held for the first time?  2)  What long trip began in Washington, D.C. in 1961?  3)  What famous pop star's mother is 90 years old today?  Good Luck.  Stay safe and stay busy.

Friday's Info

Hi Guys,
Not much to give you this morning in the way of announcements.  I only gave you two assignments in each subject today.  It's the weekend so...   Did you think about my Thursday pop questions?   Answers will be given later today after I check my e-mails from those of you who replied.  Remember, I will be giving out lunches at school om Monday from 11 til 1.  If you haven't picked up your personal stuff and packets, come by or you may not be able to get it later.  You need you Go Math and Readers' Notebooks.  Have great weekend.

I Want You to Text Me With Answers

Hi Guys,
I want to see if you're reading my posts.  So, here are a few questions for you to answer.  On this day in history, April 30:  1) What did George Washington do relating to our country?  2)  What did the U. S. buy from France?  3) What old country western singer had a birthday?
Answer me by e-mail on the school website.  Let's see who is reading my posts and can research these answers.

Props for Some Students

Hi Guys,
Well, this if the end of our first week after what was to be spring break.  A few of you guys have been doing a great job with your assignments I have given you.  I'm talking about the Math4kids and Readworks assignments.  Carter, Jesus, Kamaria, and Laker have been consistent this week.  Remember, I can monitor your work and I am doing that.  The rest of the class needs to take note of what some of your classmates are doing and "get to getting"!!!!  Your new assignment will be posted by 11:00 this morning.

Mr. Bailey

Educational Television

Hi Guys,
I have already given you a couple of communications today, but I have one more.  KCET (Spectrum 28) and KVCR (Spectrum 24) have shows on from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. each day.  They are of interest to students in grades 4 through 6.  They usually deal with history and/or science.  You might find the shows more interesting than just reading.  Watch them for enjoyment the rest of this week and next week.  Starting the week of April 20, I want you to choose three of those programs and write two paragraphs about what you see on each of the shows.  We need to do some work in history and science.  So, let's turn off the video games for about three hours every week until the end of May, okay?

Hi Guys,
Your assignments for Wednesday, April 8-10 are posted under Bailey's Fifth Grade Scholars.  As a funny American comic said, "Get 'er done!"  Stay busy and stay safe.  Love you guys.

Change in Readworks Code

Hi Guys,
Some of you have had problems getting to your assignments on Readworks.  After contacting Readworks online, I found out that the code was wrong.  Here is the correct code:  UWGV7K.   Yes, the last letter is K, not L.  I talked to one of our class members and they said it works.  Check for new assignments tomorrow afternoon.  More math and reading will be provided, along with some suggestions for other stuff to look at!!

End of Spring Break

Hi Guys,
Well, April 6th is here and we have to get back to work.  On Monday afternoon, go to my page (staff directory) and click on Bailey's Fifth Grade Scholars to get upcoming work.  We will start with the basics in math and do reading, all online.  Follow the directions to receive codes and passwords.  I'll be handing out food from 11 to 1 on Monday and Friday this week.  Then only on Monday's for the next three weeks.  Oh, call your classmates to make sure they have the info.

Needed Information for 5th Grade

Hello My Young Scholars,
I'm sending you my first post to let you know that you will be receiving some work and assignments from me by the beginning of next week, March 30.  You will be getting assignments from several sites and, hopefully in the near future, from me at school.  We may be able to provide you with packets to work on while you are at home at some later date..  Please, attempt to get an electronic device, if you possibly can, or borrow one so you can complete some of the work.  I will be able to monitor your work, so I'll know if you have been working at home.  For now, keep working on your state test site and try to read every day.  Oh, and don't forget Moby Max and the other things we were working on in the computer lab.  If you forgot your passwords, e-mail me on the ASA Charter School web site.
I miss you all and hope to be able to see some of you in the future.  Stay safe and stay busy.  Remember, this situation we're in will not last forever and the less you do, the farther you will be behind when school begins again.
Love you guys.
Yours in Dragon Pride.
